Kelly Clarkson has been a American songwriter and singer for over 20 years. She won American Idol during the first season. She was not only launched into the spotlight by her victory, but she also signed an agreement to record multiple albums with RCA Records 19 Recordings & S Records. Since then, she has released a number of studio albums. Three of them topped the US Billboard 200 chart, however, others narrowly missed the mark. She is considered one of most successful American Idol artists. To achieve her success, she tried out different musical styles, and explored subjects. Because of her uniqueness and skill as a performer her work was recognized by reviewers and was awarded a couple of notable prizes. She was awarded the Grammy Award is her most highly regarded recognition. In addition to her musical career, she has been featured in movies and television shows. She also wrote the children's book River Rose and the Magical Lullaby as well as been a part of numerous charities.
