
Suzanne Pleshette, born January 31, 1937, died January 19, 2008, in the US. She was an American film, television, theatre, as well as voice actor. [1] Pleshette started her career in the theatre and started appearing in films towards the end of the 1950s. She later appeared in prominent films like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), and Spirited Away (2001). She later appeared in various TV productions, mostly as guest actors, and she was Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 until 1978, receiving several Emmy Award nominations for her work. Pleshette, a daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan),[1] and Eugene Pleshette, was born on the 31st of January 1937 in Brooklyn Heights. Her parents were Jewish immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary. Her mother was an artist, dancer and choreographer who appeared on stage under the name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was a stage director at both the Paramount Theater as well as the Paramount Theater in Manhattan.
